is Online this year!

You’ll have seven classes to choose from, along with the Sunday afternoon show.
This event is a fundraiser for Pilgrim Firs Conference Center in Port Orchard, where we usually hold our fall camp. After paying our teachers an honorarium, all funds raised will go to support their important work.
Tuition for the weekend is $50 payable to VENMO (firstname.lastname@example.org). Or send a check to Motherlode Music, PO Box 805, Bellingham, WA 98227-0805
Sign up and we’ll send you the Zoom links closer to the weekend (so it doesn’t get lost in your in-box).
Schedule and Class Descriptions
Saturday, Oct. 2
9-9:30: Welcome, and a few songs led by Motherlode
9:30 - 10:30 - Class #1 Amy Friedricks
Rock That Guitar! - We'll play and sing classics from the 60s and 70s including some Beatles, Carole King, Eagles, Tom Petty and other favorites.
10:45- 11:45 - Class #2 Marianne Brogan
Ukulele Mishmash - noun: a confused mixture of things. We only know how to have fun! We'll play parts, some easy, some tricky, and if it doesn't quite come together we will never know because it's zoom!
12:30-1:30- Class #3 Nova Devonie
Numbers and Letters, Oh No! How does it all add up and what does it spell out for you? A brief dive into scale and chord construction, along with general Q&A about any music theory questions you may have that I might know the answer to!
1:45 -2:45 - Class #4 Laura Silverstein
Spiff Up Your Guitar Accompaniment. Learn some cool strumming patterns, licks, and turnarounds applied to blues, folk, and pop styles in standard tuning. We’ll also look at “double dropped D tuning” which gives a nice “drony” sound in songs like “Man of Constant Sorrow.” We'll sing some songs and add some cool little tricks on your guitar to help drive songs and give them a distinctive groove.
3:00 - 5:00 Student concert (20 slots) – email Motherlode@comcast.net if you’d like to sign up to perform.
Sunday, Oct. 3. Staff/Motherlode Concert
2:00-4:30 – Because this is a fund raiser for Pilgrim Firs, this concert will be open to the wider music community and we’ll be seeking donations. Look for songs from Motherlode and our other wonderful NWMC teachers!
